The bowling green at mundesley is a slight misnoma in that as the picture left shows it's rarely if ever green and the ability to actually bowl on it was considerably limited by obscure canvers that could be found . A definite local knowledge advantage could be gained by those who attended the camp regularly. It is difficult to say how many rinks the green could accommodate but there were bowls available and sometimes there balast was actually on the side that you thought it was . Again however it was always tricky to know wether to compensate for the dodgy bowls on the dodgy canver. Needless to say I was not a great bowler but the green did host some epic encounters and the week long battle between Jim Lewis and John Manning often provided much entertainment whilst many others were settling down to Bingo in the hall.

There is some indication from my research that planning permission was applied for to build an indoor bowling centre at the camp. This was in fact a perpectual rumour in the early 1990's but it would appear that it had some basis. When I find out more I will update.
