CRoquet is not a game that your average holiday camp resident will normally have played. However it became quite a popular pursuit. The abridged version of the game was the norm due to the pressure of people wishing to play. In more recent years the full scale more agressive and vindictive game has taken over for my particular group partly due to the fewer people wishing to play the game. As with the bowling green a good local knowledge was required to do well at mundesley. A particular mastery of the slope back from the far pin to the second set of hoops could destroy opponents confidence.

The croquet lawn also became popular for a number of activities. The sedate activity was lawn darts and as this was never a paticular favorite of mine I have no pictures( donations would be appreciated)

The most lively activity that the lawn witness was however the habitual stake out. Historically the victims were the blue coats and the punishment was porridge as is shown in the infamous Jim fixed it for me incident. In later years as the pictures below show the campers became the victim and my own particular dressing down came in the form of pink blancmange.
